Good question! Depends on your online activity level, but let's just say you just purchased a domain name(www.yourcompany.com) and built your website, it will usually take 3-5 months for you to start seeing results online with your chosen keywords. What are keywords? A keyword is a word that serves as a code. It is a word that is used as a reference point for finding other words of its kind or any information regarding those words. You also need to be active online, list your company name to other sites such as Yelp, yellowpages, elocal, any local or global business list site out there. A well built website will also help your ranking on search engines, tagged images, the speed of your website, is it secured? All these things are a factor when it comes to search engine optimization and will help you increase your online presence.
They both provide optimum targeting of high traffic key phrases however, in terms of internet marketing, they differ. Let me explain to you why, Google Adwords uses real money to get you visitors, in other words it's a paid advertisement on Google. It can be very expensive specially when your targeted keywords have high impressions, once you stop the campaign traffic is over. It's a good way to get your business running if you know what you're doing. SEO or search engine optimization on the other hand is pure organic a proper SEO specialist takes 20-40 hours a month including research, tagging images, optimizing your site/sites, and so on... Which is better? They're both great for any business, just have to make sure you're dealing with the right people or person.
If you were told by someone or a company that they can get your business on the 1st, 2nd pages of search engines without sponsored ads you better run away. If someone tells you that their secret can make you huge money or get you lots of traffic, stay away. Search Engine Optimization takes time, nothing happens overnight, every business is different, it all requires research, maintaining your site and being active online.
Run away, now, don't ever look back. Company, or people who tells you you only need Social Media advertisement is nuts and most likely an idiot who doesn't know what they are doing. Social media is a GREAT platform when it comes to generating leads, creating traffic and getting views, interactions and more. You need more than a Facebook ads to get your name out there. If you want to be successful you have to do everything, it's expensive but for you to make money is you have to spend money. No books, no social media expert is going to save your company. Don't trust those social media experts on Facebook that promotes their book, platform, or tells you you will increase your sales if..., it's all about hard work and the right people. #doeverything
Duh! Look at Apple, a brand that focus on design, everything starts with your brand, your branding tells your customers your story so make it worth their while. A company that steals images on Google is not a company, don't be like Jake or Susan. #nostyle
Pay for my service! Kidding, you got to hustle, be active on social media(Instagram, Facebook...), create an email campaign, use Facebook ads, Google Adwords, post on Kijiji or craigslist, engage with your clients on social media, do promotions, make videos, start a Youtube channel. Make sure you ask reviews for your Google Business Page, Google reviews do help improve search rankings and overall SEO efforts. While there are a lot of factors involved in search rankings, online customer reviews can be a strong signal to search engines that communicates trustworthiness and authority. You have to commit, having a business isn't a part time job, it is a full time job, so give it your 350%.
We use SEMRush, why? It has all the tools we need to audit, check and compare one site to another, it has also worked for us and our clients. Use whatever works best for you. Yoast is also a good SEO tool for Wordpress users. Don't ask me why it's good. Just try it.
Great question! Ask for their portfolio, website, do a research on them. Ask them how they can take your business to another level, if you're looking for a designer ask them to do a mock up design for what you need, stay away from the "You don't need this(SEO, Facebook Ads, etc...)" type of people. When someone tells you that their platform/strategy is better than others you know they're one of those motivational gurus on social media who doesn't have much personal/business achievements. People who ask for referrals stay away from those guys, stay away from the people who's charging thousands of dollars just to do your Facebook ads.
